Our promise
We want you to be satisfied with every order. If something isn't right, we'll work with you to make it right. This policy explains how returns, refunds, and exchanges work — please read carefully before placing an order, and reach out with any questions before you buy.
Return window
You have 30 days from the delivery date to request a return. Returns received after this window cannot be accepted. The clock starts the day the carrier marks your shipment as delivered.
What can be returned
Items must meet all of these conditions:
- Unused and in re-sellable condition
- All original packaging, manuals, and accessories included
- Original tags and stickers intact
- Not installed, modified, cut, painted, or altered in any way
- Free of dirt, grease, water, fuel, or any contamination
What cannot be returned
For safety, regulatory, and supplier reasons, the following are non-returnable:
- Hazardous materials (ORM-D / hazmat) — adhesives, sealants, paints, fuel additives, batteries, aerosols
- Electrical engine parts — stators, triggers, solenoids, regulators, ignition components
- Marine and offroad electronics that have been opened, registered, or activated (GPS, fishfinders, stereos, cameras)
- Propellers that have touched water
- Custom or special-order items — boat covers, bimini tops, fuel tanks, custom-fit panels, cut-to-length cable or hose, made-to-order anything
- Installed or used items — once a product has been bolted, wired, plumbed, or otherwise put into service, it is not returnable
- Closeout, clearance, or "final sale" items
- Personal protective equipment (life jackets, helmets) once removed from sealed packaging
- Tires, lifts kits, and oversized freight items without prior written approval
If you're unsure whether an item is returnable, please contact us before opening or installing it.
How to start a return
All returns require an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization). Do not ship items back without one — unauthorized returns cannot be processed and may be refused.
1. Email us at returns@wrench-lab.com within 30 days of delivery
2. Include your order number, the item(s) you'd like to return, the reason, and (if applicable) photos
3. We'll respond within 1–2 business days with an RMA number, return address, and instructions
4. Pack the item securely in its original packaging with the RMA clearly marked
5. Ship it back via a tracked, insured method
Shipping costs
- Return shipping is the customer's responsibility unless the return is due to our error (wrong item, damaged in transit, defective product)
- Original shipping charges are non-refundable, including on orders that shipped "free" — the actual shipping cost we paid is deducted from refunds where applicable
- For items that came with free shipping, the actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund
- We strongly recommend insuring your return shipment — we cannot refund items that arrive damaged or are lost in return transit
Restocking fees
A 15% restocking fee is deducted from refunds on returned items. This covers our processing, our supplier's restocking charge, and the cost of inspecting and re-listing returned merchandise.
Restocking fees are waived when:
- We shipped the wrong item
- The item arrived damaged or defective (with documented evidence)
- The item is materially different from what was described or pictured
Damaged or defective items
If your order arrives damaged or with manufacturer defects:
1. Take photos within 24 hours of delivery — outer packaging, inner packaging, and the damaged item itself
2. Email returns@wrench-lab.com with your order number, photos, and a description
3. Do not discard the original packaging — carriers often require it for damage claims
4. We'll either ship a replacement, issue a refund, or file a carrier claim depending on the situation
Most damage claims must be filed within 48 hours of delivery to be covered. Past that window, we may be unable to recover from the carrier.
Wrong item shipped
If we shipped you something different from what you ordered, we cover everything: return shipping, replacement shipping, and you keep your full refund or your replacement at no cost. Just email us with photos and your order number and we'll send a prepaid return label.
Refund processing
- Refunds are issued only to the original payment method
- Once your return is received and inspected, refunds are processed within 5–7 business days
- Bank/card processing time may add another 3–5 business days before funds appear on your statement
- You'll receive an email confirmation when your refund is processed
Exchanges
We don't process direct exchanges. If you'd like a different item, please return the original for a refund (per this policy) and place a new order for the replacement.
Cancellations
- Before shipment: orders can be cancelled with no fee. Email us as quickly as possible — we typically ship within 24 hours of order placement.
- After shipment: orders cannot be cancelled. They become standard returns, subject to all policies above.
International orders
We currently ship within the United States only. International orders are not available at this time.
Cores and warranty items
Some products (alternators, starters, certain pumps) have a core charge — a refundable deposit that covers the value of the old part. Return the used core within 30 days following the included core-return instructions to receive your core refund.
Manufacturer warranty claims are handled directly with the brand. We can help facilitate, but warranty terms are set by each manufacturer.
